This past weekend The Front’s SLC and Ogden Youth Climbing Teams made a strong showing at the SCS Divisional Competition at Momentum. Theresa Nielson, Kathleen Stone, Axel Dillman, Austin Hansel, and Dallas and Devin Hammond all qualified to move on from Regionals last month in Bozeman.
For the girls, Theresa and Kathleen finished 13th and 16th in Youth A in the semifinals on Saturday. Dallas came in 14th in Female Youth C, and her brother Devin placed 14th in Male Youth D. In Male Youth C, Axel and Austin took 5th and 7th places, both qualifying for the finals on Sunday. After a hard-fought fight, Austin came out 8th, and Axel’s 6th place finish won him an invitation to Nationals in Atlanta!
Respect to the climbers, coaches, and parents who’ve represented The Front so strongly this competition season! You make us proud. And congratulations and good luck to Axel!
